There are THREE TYPES OF MINOR KEYS – What! Three! Yes. THREE! Why? Because there are three types of ways to make the most of the ‘Relative Minor’ of the Major Key – or the 6th Note Mode. That’s why I have three names – to describe each key. Because the traditional names and learning them is so dull, difficult and confusing. So my Truly Key is the Natural Minor. My Madly Key is used by Classical composers and orchestral works to add flavour to the harmony by adding a 7th Note Sharp – up and down the Scale – it’s called the Harmonic Minor (I prefer it to be Madly – In Love with the music being made!). Then when you want to SING A SAD SONG it’s weird but you can sing the 6th and 7th Notes up by a Sharp – on the way UP – then go back to my Truly key on the way DOWN it’s my Deeply Key! It’s called the (boring! name of) the Melodic Minor. Now you know why I am called TRULY MADLY DEEPLY. Add the ability to sight-read, sing, play, mentor, teach the Emoji School of Music way and what’s not to like or try.
So now you know what they are and how much FUN you can have – not just with the Melody but adding new and different chords – then learning ME is worth the while! What we need now in The Truly Classical School of Music is lots of HELP – to add all that centuries old (and new) RSVG Sheet Music.
